70 year old man shot and killed in Kumasi 

The Zongo District Police Command is investigating a case in which a 70 year old man Baba Seidu was shot and killed at dawn today at Alabar in Kumasi.  

The deceased was shot at close range in the face destroying the upper part of the body completely.  

The Zongo District Police Commander, Superintendent Samuel Adane Nyamekye, in an  interview said the Police patrol team was informed around 3:30 am this morning that a man had been shot in front of  a mosque at Alabar and  had died instantly. 

He said personnel were dispatched to the scene and saw the man lying in a pool of blood. 

Reports from relatives indicate that the deceased was on his usual routine to call Muslims to prayer. 

The Police Commander said the deceased had two mobile phones and 350 cedis on him.  

The body has been deposited at the  Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital morgue  for autopsy while the Police continue with their investigations.
