Obama attends India's Republic Day

US President Barack Obama is in India to attend the country's Republic Day parade in Delhi.

He is the first US head of state to do so. His visit is also aimed at warming ties between the two countries.

Both leaders have announced a breakthrough on a pact that will allow US companies to supply India with civilian nuclear technology.

Indian PM, Narendra Modi described the visit as a new journey of cooperation.

Mr Obama will meet the main opposition Congress party leaders today and will also speak at a business summit.
