Minister Appeals For Peace, Unity In Northern Ghana

The Northern Regional Minister, Alhaji Mohammed Muniru Limuna, says chieftaincy, land, intra-religious and political conflicts in the region are hindering the developmental goals of the region.

He said about eighty percent of the regions resources are used in settling disputes, a trend which is hampering development.

Speaking to Radio Ghana, Alhaji Limuna said the level of co-operation of the people is very minimal in the understanding of the administrative duties of the RCC, and associated it to the unjustifiable demands for resources by individuals and groups in the region. 

Alhaji Limuna noted that a service performance contract has been signed with the ten regional ministers and coordinating directors.

The move will help them to focus on their development goals. The directors will be assessed quarterly and annually.
