9 escape unhurt by collapsing mast

Nine people escaped unhurt when a giant television mast fell on the building in which they were occupying at Abelenkpe in Accra destroying property running into millions of cedis.

The mast located at Trotro Crescent Link at Abelenkpe served as television and radio signals portal for some private stations. 

The items damaged include television sets, clothing and a vehicle parked outside the building. Michael Angbing, owner of the building, said the incident occurred at about 5:25 pm when the lights went off.

He said management of the company showed support for the victims and rented a hotel for them.
